Currently on display at the Mario Rimoldi Museum of Modern Art, the exhibition Imago Aphroditae. Female Beauty From XV to XX Century explores the iconographic theme of ideal female beauty and its distinguishing traits as they change and evolve from the 15th through the 20th centuries. Characterized by the formal variety of the artworks shown, the exhibit examines the multi-faceted breadth of female representation throughout the centuries, tracing an iconographic journey to engage and fascinate the viewer with an exhibit of the highest caliber.
Open from December 27th, 2015 to March 27th, 2016 at Ciasa de ra Regoles, the exhibition offers the possibility of admiring more than forty artworks from Italian public and private collections, as well as artworks belonging to the Rimoldi Museum. Amongst the artworks are thirty paintings from Giorgio Baratti Antiques, including Portrait of a Young Girl by Jacopo Amigoni and Danae with Sleeping Beauty by Giovanni Giacomo Sementi and Pier Francesco Cittadini.
